Voyeurism is the sexual interest in or practice of spying on people engaged in intimate behaviors, such as undressing, sexual activity, or other actions usually considered to be of a private nature.This is extremely comon in the media in particular music videos. Music videos seem to be able to distribute sexual and suggestive images accross the tv without it being conceved as dirty however this is because this has been the case for many years now.

Many people would be horrified knowing their child was watching pornography however when added good music and a very slight amount of conservitiveness it seems to be okay.Music videos today thrive on voyeurism due to the age old media saying "sex sells". Now adays stars are becoming even more riscai with their performances that now its hard to tell whats porn and whats miley cyrus's new music video.

Homosexual

Needless to say homosexual promotes homosexuality whether it be positivly or negativly however in this day and age it is much more common to see positive portrayals of homosexuality. Avici's addicted to you presents two females that have fallen in love and are running away together because society does not except their love therefor have to go to radiculous lengths to fight for it.

Male gaze

Male gaze is basically where woman are objectified on camera and treated like decoration or mannequins in order to make the men look better and/ or get high rating due to male views.Satisfaction is a prime example of male gaze and voyourism . The women have been sprayed with oil to make their skin shine and look more desirable they also have very tanned skin. A high demographic of men actually prefer women with a tan because they enjoy the exotic look. All the women in the video are wearing skimpy outfits while using power tools. This is clearly targeting men and using the saying sex sells.

Female gaze

Female gaze is a reverse roll on the women objectifying the men e.g. male strippers etc.

In madonnas girl gone wild she is presented as a dominant materialistic woman with a tight grip on men
the men are objectified and sexualised the way women are generically shown in music videos. Although this is not necessarily acceptable its refreshing due to how over used over sexualised women are used within music videos. This presents female gaze perfectly due to how the men are used as decoration to help madonna look more desirable while the men are being objectified as nothing more than sexualised mannequins.

Exhibitionism is female perfomance empowering the female body and being proud of being a woman/who they are.This is where the woman are seen to be in control and doing things of their own This video fatures lady gaga showing her dominace against men while retaining her feminine charms. This video is a clear indication of exhibitionism due to the artistic qualities. She presents herself as Aphrodite the greek goddess of love. She dresses in quite skimpy however because of her motives it feels very classy and empowering as though she is saying thats her body she can show it in anyway she wants to without men gawking at her without her permission.

Genre: Alternative indie

There is a clear link between the visuals of the video,the genre and the music. Firstly the style of Alternative indie is free and quite hippified. We are first shown a small shed covered in random bits and bobs that you may have found on the roadside, on the beach followed bty an acoustic guitar. I emphasise the type of guitar because you do not very often find an electric guitar in alternative indie music. this is followed by a man bear foot then a sharp cut to the forest.And is clearly recorded in america maybe louisiana,missisipi or texas by looking at the house style and surroundings.

Each part of the video embraces the genre of alternative indie and its free living earthy values.

This video has alot of narrative and performance. The video does not take place in one location and has alot going on in every scene making it extremely interesting regardless of the fact it is just one man thoughout the whole video.The song and video makes you feel free and happy, almost like you want to run through a field barefoot for hours and just be careless. It makes me feel like dancing without careing how bad my dancing is.

it also makes me think that one day i will go home and will be reminded of all the things in my childhood. But we can't rewind time. We can never experience the things we did in the past. As kids we had no fears and no doubts. In a year i will be finished with school und go study and work. And one day i will come home and i will be reminded of my childhood. Goodwin's Music Video Theory refers to 'Thought Beat', Performance narrative, Star Image, Relationship between the Song and Visuals, Technical Aspects, Voyeurism of Women etc. I feel that this video presents performance narrative, star image and the relationship between visuals and the song beautifully.
